‘Top class Islamic scholars agree that there is no religious barrier to donating blood while fasting during Ramadan. So we can appeal to others to donate blood without any hesitation.’
Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq said while addressing a gathering of journalists at the Quantum Meditation Hall in Kakrail on September 2, 2008.
He asked the journalists to participate in the Quantaion E Khatme Quran to be held from September 5 to 13, the program for listening to the Quran and its Bengali translation at the meditation level so that we can realize the true spirit behind the words.
Refiqur Rahman Requ, chief photojournalist of daily Amar Desh; Mahtabi Zaman, reporter of the Daily Star; and Shamim, reporter of Bhorer Kagoj expressed their feelings in the program.
In addition there was a lively question and answer session on meditation and related topics.
‘I have always liked serving people. I am not able to give money in charity but I can donate blood. So that is what I do.’
M.M. Badshah, a reporter of a satellite channel said while explaining the reasons for donating blood after receiving the token of honor in the 36th Life-long Blood Donor Felicitation Program held in the Quantum Meditation Hall in Kakrail on August 30, 2008.
Like Badshah, most donors donate blood to serve humanity, and it is this attitude of service that the Life Long Blood Donor Felicitation Programs celebrate.
Prof. Dr. Alimullah Miah, Vice Chancellor of International University of Business, Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), was present as the chief guest, while Professor Dr. Poresh Chandra Mondal, former Professor of Dhaka University presided over the program. Masuda Akhter Abedin. Coordinator of the Voluntary Blood Donation Program of Quantum Foundation, gave the introductory speech.
IUBAT and the Free Birds Club were honored for their contribution in the voluntary blood donation movement in Bangladesh. M. Alimullah and Md. Zakir Hossain received the crests of honor on behalf of their organizations.
74 men and 5 women, who have donated blood at least three times and are committed to donating blood life-long, were honored in the program.
The growing popularity of Quantum Method was once again evident in the diversity of participants in the 278th batch of Quantum Method Meditation Course held in the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh building from August 29 to September 1.
Different types of people ranging from a justice of Supreme Court to school students participated in the course with different objectives in mind and got a wide range of benefits. Sharmin Hossain, a house wife suffering from migraine for 16 years always carries medicine in her purse. But during the course she was not required to use them because the migraine never came.
Morsheda Amin, a retired school teacher was suffering from knee pain for which she could not walk easily. She finally found relief from her pain and started to climb up stairs and say her prayers with the proper posture during the course.
Shamsun Nahar, a housewife who has been under treatment in the cardiology department of a well known hospital for three months is now confident that she will not need a pace maker for her heart as the doctors had suggested.
Sabina Akram, wife of cricketer Akram Khan, said she found relief from frustration and restlessness through the course and said she would request her husband to ask all cricketers to do the course.
Mamun, a student of Jagannath University who had a stammering problem, said the course helped him overcome his nervousness and lack of confidence and speak with ease.
Professor Dr. Shfiq Haidari, a freedom fighter and chairman of the Forum of National Heroes, said he felt refreshed after completing the course.
Azad Mukta, a UP Chairman from Jamalpur said the course helped him control self destructive emotions such as anger.
Ltd. Col. Ataul Haque, a retired army officer and the general manager of industries who had been suffering from physical problems including backache said with joy that he was feeling better and better everyday.
Dr. A.K.M. Anwarul Islam, Professor of Urology department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Medical University, said that the course is just an effective method for individual development but also for national development.
'All too often, we try to change or manipulate our family members', Professor Amena Begum, Quantum Executive, said in the monthly Alokito Poribar Karjokrom (Enlightened Family Program) held in two sessions in the Proshanti Hall on Thursday, August 28. 'Husbands try to mould their wives according to their likes and dislikes, wives do the same. Even children try to manipulate their parents into giving them the things they want', she said.
But the truth is, happiness comes from sharing and understanding, not dominating. Family decisions should always be taken jointly and should not be imposed upon anyone.Responsibilities should be distributed based on who can do something best, and not based on his or her role in the family, she added.
More than 100 participants attended the two sessions of the last program before Ramadan. Ferdoushi Sultana, Organizer, Quantum Foundation, hosted the program.
Eminent economist Wahid Uddin Mahmud was present as the guest speaker in Quantum Mukto Alochona (Open Ideas) on Wednesday, August 27 and shared the secrets of his success with the audience. Here is what he said in brief:
It’s not true that only the successful people do a lot of work every day. Actually, the life style in Bangladesh ensures that, each of us do and think about various things all the time. But it’s the ‘balancing’ that we usually miss.
Wherever we start doing anything, either we reside in the past or think about its consequences in the future. If instead we concentrate on the present, we will do much better in life.
The other vital mistake that we generally make is that we regard our colleagues as our competitors.Competition, until it changes into jealousy, is alright. But whenever we become jealous, we bring our own downfall. As we all know, we ourselves are our best competitors. That’s what I have personally followed so far in my life and so far this attitude has always led me to success.
Besides all these, I have developed the habit of contemplating deeply. Because I feel that its critical thinking that helps us overcome the daily hassles of life. It is critical thinking again that leads us to find out who we actually are; where we came from, where we are heading towards and what should be the mission.
Maybe that’s what is called meditation.
Doctors of the Urology department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Medical University (BSMMU), the only medical university in the country, expressed their interest in Quantum Method in an Introductory Seminar about the method held in the department on August 27. It was the first introductory seminar on Quantum Method in this university.
Professor A Salam, a prominent urologist and chairman of the department, and Professor Kibria, ex chairman, praised the method and became enthused to attend the course. Both of them gave speeches in the conclusion of the seminar.
Some other professors, medical officers and post graduate students of the department attended the seminar and interacted with the presenter Dr. Moniruzzaman, Coordinator, Research and Motivation, Quantum Foundation. They also spontaneously took part in a lively question and answer session.
Dr. Saidul Islam, Assistant Professor of the department and a Quantum Graduate, organized the seminar where Pranjeet Lal Shil and Ferdoushi Sultana, organizers of Quantum Foundation were also present.
One can reduce job stress by practicing meditation regularly as meditation drives away negative emotions such as tension and makes a person proactive, speakers at the Alokaion (self empowerment) program held in the Proshanti Hall in Shantinagar said on August 26.
Speakers said that meditation is the process of using the mind and the brain in a planned and controlled way. Perfect peace can be gained from meditation and a person having perfect peace of mind can concentrate in work easily.
Speakers gave examples of some corporate houses like Samsung and Videocon which have introduced daily meditation sessions for their employees to decrease job stress. They said all these corporations experienced significant improvements in the productivity of their workers.
Wrong attitude about jobs, lack of planning and due process, raising work load and deadlines were identified as some of the major causes of job stress in the discussion.
The benefit of Quantum Method is now reaching people from every corner of the country, as was proved again by the 277th batch Quantum Method Meditation Course held in Khulna from August 22 to 25.
The record breaking course had five times the number of participants than the last course in Khulna held in June 2007. Part of the reason was the many Quantum Method Introductory Sessions held in Khulna and the surrounding areas in the last one and a half months. One of these introductory sessions attracted around eight hundred participants.
As usual, all the participants benefited mentally, physically and in other respects from the course. Rajia Sultana Ranu, a university student, had been suffering from an unidentified disease for which she had problem eating or drinking for the last nine years. During the course she started to eat and finally found relief from pain in the abdomen. Sadia Afrin , another university student, recovered from cold allergy. Moniruzzaman Khan, a school teacher, who had been unable to walk alone and move his arms freely due to a spinal chord problem, started moving his hands easily from the second day. Shirina Begum, Marjina Haque, Rehana Begum and Taega Banu, housewives, recovered from back pain and arthritis and were able to say their prayers with ruku and shezda after a long time.
A group of 28 students of the Agricultural Training Institute participated in the course inspired by their teacher Amjad Hossain. They and other students said they were confident and stress free and expecting better results in the future.
Abdullah Al Mamun, who came from Asray (shelter)- a rehabilitation center for people addicted to drugs in Naogaon, said the course gave him the confidence to recover from his addiction. He and eight other members of Asray were inspired to join the course by Mahfujur Rahman, the Director of the center and a Quantum Pro-master. Two people from Drishti (sight), a rehabilitation center in Khulna, also took part in the course with the hope of recovering from addiction.
Participants came from different districts like Jessore, Chittagong, Khulna, Shatkhira, Barisal, Gopalganj and Sylhet. Even a student living in Saudi Arabia who was back home in Sylhet for his vacation gave up some precious days with his family to travel to Khulna to take part in the course. He said he was thoroughly fascinated by the lectures and was convinced to return to Bangladesh and serve his country after completing his studies.
‘I have wanted to do the Psyche Course for a long time, but could not manage the time before. The compact two-day Quantum Healing and Psyche Course finally gave me the opportunity to fulfill my long cherished desire’, a graduate said after participating in the first batch of the Quantum Healing and Psyche Course held in the Quantum Meditation Hall in Kakrail on August 22 and 23.
The feeling was common among the participants of the first batch. In addition to fulfilling people’s natural curiosity about Psychic phenomenon, the ‘Quantum Psyche Course’ as it was previously called is also a pre-requisite of the Realization Course. But because it took at least six weeks to complete the course before, many couldn’t make time despite their interest.
In addition to being more compact, the new Quantum Healing and Psyche Course provided new insights and information about the power of otichetona (superconscious) and the ways to develop and use it for the benefit of ourselves and others. The course was moderated by Sadia Parveen, Organizer, Quantum Foundation. She discussed the nature and importance of the course, the importance of observation, ways to hone up observation skills, and the process and importance of self healing. Dr. Muniruzzaman, Coordinator, Research and Motivation, Quantum Foundation, made a presentation on the human anatomy, the significance of colors, and the Quantum Healing Program: the way works, it’s do’s and don’ts and the benefits for the healer. Bonani Tanzima Rahman, Organizer, Quantum Foundation, spoke on the benefits of relaxation, the barriers to accessing the superconscious, and the ways to improve our ability to use the command center for the benefit of others. In addition, the participants went through a host of practical exercises and meditations designed to help them develop their Psychic and Healing skills.
The participants showed eager interest in completing the internship: the next phase of the course, and become fully certified Quantum Psyches and Healers. We wish them all the best. The next batch of the course will be held on October 24 and 25.
Gurujee in Quantaion E Jalali
‘The opportunity to work comes in waves. Sometimes there are periods of intense work, at other times there are relative lulls. It is this ebb and flow that makes life interesting. We said in the beginning of 2008 that is a period for new beginnings, new phases, new developments and completions. The eight months that have passed have already proved this. Now all symptoms indicate that the coming Ramadan is bringing us the opportunity to do more fulfilling work.’
Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajatak said in the monthly Quantaion E Jalali held in the Engineers’ Institute Auditorium on August 20. He said that instead of exercising moderation during Ramadan, we often become even more wasteful and unhealthy during this period, eating different varieties of unhealthy deep-fried food for iftar (the meal taken to break the fast) and overeating in dinner and sehri (the meal taken before starting the fast.) If instead of fussing over food, we concentrate on fruitful work and prayer, Ramadan will bring us a feeling of lightness and joy that we have never tasted before, he said.
He advised everyone to be nice and polite during Ramadan and to avoid arguments. He also advised against putting too much pressure on women to present varieties of sumptuous food on the table for iftaar. Instead, he motivated the participants to participate in the Quantaion E Khatme Quran and Akheri Doa, collect and distribute charity banks, perform healings if they have the opportunity, distribute konicas and motivate people to pay zakat collectively so that it can be used it fruitful ways.
Several hundred people participated in the program which also included listening to the Quran in silence, meditations for self healing and seeking forgiveness, and the Jalali prayer. We hope all of us will take Gurujee’s advice and make this Ramadan the most meaningful of our lives.
Batch 14(B) of the Quantum Realization Course was held in the Mirpur Center from August 8 to 11. Almost 130 new participants and repeaters took part in the course and started their journey towards becoming Ananya Manush or Superman.
‘Only institutional education is not necessarily good education. Education that also teaches humane and moral values is good education and is very essential for the country.’
Majee Nahar El Bukhari, Director General of the Quantum Foundation, said in the Prottoyon Onusthan (concluding ceremony) of the 27th Batch of the Quantum Student Course held in the Quantum Meditation Hall, Kakrail, from August 8 to 11.
Majee told the participating students that they would be the compassionate members of the great humanitarian society which is the dream of Quantum Foundation.
Surayia Rahman, Director-Coordination, emphasized the need for building ourselves up and putting the lessons into practice.
‘The incredible fertility that nature has bestowed upon this land has attracted people from all corners of the world for thousands of years, resulting in a rich diversity in the population and a wealth of archeological treasures. But unfortunately we are losing this rich heritage due to ignorance and neglect.’
Abul Kalam Mohammad Zakaria, former secretary and archeologist, said in the Quantum Mukto Alochona (Open Ideas), on Wednesday, August 13. The soon-to-be 90-year-old, who is still physically fit and amazingly sharpness, shared some fascinating facts about our history and archeological sites from his immense reservoir of knowledge.
For example, the veteran archeologist said that Khan Jahan Ali, who is famous for building the Shat Gombuj (60 domes) Mosque, had build several hundred mosques in the Jessore and Khulna areas. There were two that had 35 domes each. However hardly 30 mosques remain in those areas now, the all that is left of the ones with 35 domes are the foundations buried under the soil.
Many such archeological treasures exist in our country, but are not being unearthed due to lack of effort, Mr. Zakaria said. And the knowledge we have about existing structures is also not enough and often incorrect, he said. For example, it is often said the Lalbagh Fort was built by Azam, the son of Aurongojeb. But using historic references, he said that evidence indicates that the fort was built by Shayesta Kha.
We should all make an effort to learnt about our history and preserve it as much as possible, he said. Whether it is worthy of pride or shame, we should always be truthful about our past.
The Pro-Masters present could not agree with him more, because they realized that only when we learn how great our past was will we be able a create a future even greater. They expressed their respect for this extraordinarily humble and exemplary man by a resounding applause that continued till he left the room..
‘We think words describe reality, but words also have the power to create reality. If we use the power of words constructively, it can change our lives.’
Speakers said in the weekly Alokaion (Self Empowerment) program this Tuesday, August 12. They said repeating positive sentences over and over can create a feeling of success in our brain, because our nervous system cannot differentiate between reality and imagination. And it is this feeling of success that is the most important factor for being successful in reality, they said. For example, wherever they are asked how they are doing, Westerners always reply with ‘fine.’ And materially at least, they are doing fine. However, in response to the same question, Bengalis tend to say things like, ‘Oh I am surviving somehow.’ And in reality also, we seem to be merely surviving.
To develop the habit of positive speaking, we can take the help of meditation; and Quantum konicas: especially the subochon and autosuggestion konicas ; and keep in touch with the foundation, the speakers said. We hope you all use the power of positive words to attract success, peace and happiness to your lives.
Blood donors do not donate blood for any material benefit. They donate blood – a part of themselves- because they consider it one of the noblest forms of charity. And by doing so they have taken a social responsibility on their shoulders.
Professor Dr. M. Rijwan Khan, Vice Chancellor, United International University (UIU), said while addressing as Chief Guest in the 35th Hundred Life-long Blood Donor Felicitation Program held on August 16.
He said that it is our duty to save the patients whose lives are in danger: Thalassaemia patients, for example. But although each of us carry blood in our bodies, it is very difficult to get reliable blood supply. This in not due to any physical problems but mental barriers, he added.
Madame Nahar El Bukhari, Chief Coordinator of the Voluntary Blood Donation Program, Quantum Foundation, chaired the program. She said that the life long blood donors have fulfilled the first portion of Monchobi (dream) 2025, Quantum Foundation’s dream of transforming Bangladesh into a great humanitarian nation. Those who come forward to donate blood have proved that they have enough compassion to be members of such a society, she said.
82 people, all of whom have donated blood at least three times and are committed to donate life-long, were honored in the program,.
UIU and Agroshor Pathagar a library based social organization) from Mirpur were honored for their contribution in the voluntary blood donation movement. Professor Khan and Md. Mahmud Alam received crests on behalf of their organizations.
“It was beyond my expectation that people can get so many different kinds of benefits from a single course.” Hosne Ara Shikha, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank and a participant in the 276th batch of Quantum Method Meditation Course said in the Prottoyon Onushthan (concluding ceremony) said on August 4, 2008, the last day of the four day course.
This single sentence summarizes the impact of the course held in the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh auditorium from August 1 to 4. Participants got different types of benefits from the course depending on their needs, such as recovering from diseases declared incurable by doctors, increased confidence, mental peace, control over anger and negative thoughts, reduced job stress, spiritual development, and freedom from bad habits, to name only a few.
Brindabon Halder, a first year student of Jagannath University could not write nor do any other task with his right had due to an unidentified disease which made it shake. But during the course, he started to write with his right hand, and showed his writings to all his course mates during the concluding ceremony. Saira Hossain, a 3rd year student of Dhaka University could not bend the portion between her hip joint and knee. Doctors home and abroad told her this problem was incurable. But during the course she used a low commode for the first time in three years. Nadira Begum, a housewife, said her prayers with the proper postures after ten years. Rahima Haque Masud, and epilepsy patient did not have a single attach during the course and said that her confidence increased manifold. Abu Ahmed, a senior service holder, recovered from allergy and constipation.
Dr Anupom Hossain, a prominent sport presenter and an expert in his field, said he had attended seminars in around 35 countries but has never encountered a speaker like Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq, the teacher of Quantum Method. He said the four days of the course were four of the most memorable days of his life. Both Dr. Hossain, and Mr. Kamal, a businessman, said they learnt how to deal with job stress in the course.
Masud Ibne Rahman, Assistant Professor of a Private University, and Md. Anwer Hossain said they learnt how to control their anger in the course.
‘We have high expectations from our loved ones and get upset with them if they fail to meet those expectations. Often we take out our hurt feelings by being obstinate and self destructive. This is not only a barrier to wisdom but is often the cause of irrevocable harm. “Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq said these things at the Graduate Proggaion Program held on August 6.
Almost seven hundred and fifty people packed the IDEB (Institute of Diploma Engineers Building) auditorium for the program, which is designed to help us develop wisdom, or the ability to do the right thing at the right time. In addition to the discussion, Gurujee answered questions from graduates and guided meditations, including the Progga (wisdom) meditation, everyone’s favorite.
The monthly get together of journalists belonging to the Quantum family was held on Tuesday August 5. Gurujee guided a special meditation on imagination which left many teary eyed. Ahmed Noore Alam, a veteran journalist who repeated the course after 16 years in the 276th batch compared the course of the present with the past. Mohon Hasan of the Daily Dinkaal who did the course in the 276th batch, said he got more than he expected from the course. More than twenty journalists were present on the occasion.
Perfect peace can be obtained through meditation, as meditation makes body and mind relax and increases the flow of ‘Serotonin’ a neurotransmitter. Peace and tranquility lives in the hearts and minds of the grateful.
Speakers in the weekly Alokaion (Self Empowerment Program) said that while discussing ‘perfect peace: the gift of Meditation’ at Proshanti hall, Shantinagar on 5 August, 2008.
People who attended the sessions were requested to practice gratefulness in their daily lives. Presenters inspired them to say ‘Thank! God, I’m very fine’ in the morning and night and when can they get the opportunity.
Autosuggestion was suggested for repeating frequently- I want to live in perfect peace. So I’ll only do those things which will give me peace.
‘If children make mistakes parents should help identify and correct them, instead of hitting them. Hitting children repeatedly may push children in the wrong direction and give rise to psychological problems.’ Me’jee Nahar El Bukhari said in the monthly Enlightened Family Program (Alokito Poribaar Karjokrom), held in the Proshanti Hall on July 31.
While addressing the packed first session, Ma’jee said that if children are hit repeatedly they lose their independence and respect for parents and often develop a tendency towards violence.
She said the main cause behind children’s mental and physical problems is the family. She emphasized practicing the family meditation regularly so that such problems cannot arise. Without warmth and closeness in the family children can easily go ashtray, she added.
Discussing the importance of joint families Ma’jee said children in joint families teach children to sacrifice and not be selfish. Suicide rates among men and women who are the only children of their parents is rising, she added.
Answering a question, Ma’jee said that children should be proactive in convincing their parents to attend programs like Alokaion (Self Empowerment Program), Alokito Portibaar Karjokrom (Enlightened Family Program) etc.
‘If you believe in something, express it. Be polite and humble, but do not hesitate to express yourself. Otherwise you will lag behind in the race of life’ Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq told students in the Monthly Student Program held on July 31 in the Kakrail Meditation Hall. He guided a special meditation is which students explored their own hesitation and inhibitions.
Gurujee also said being clear about what one believes in is even more important than expressing it. Students should be clear about their goals from an early age. Gurujee said if one’s goal is to serve others to the best of their ability, then he or she will never be disadvantaged in life. It may seem at first that the goal should be to get the best paid job, and that would guarantee a comfortable life. But that is not necessarily true. He told the story of a young executive of a multinational company, who earns about 40 thousand a month, but is in debt. He decided to do a Lasik eye surgery, which costs about fifty thousand taka, but could not afford it himself and had to borrow money from his mother to do so.
So even if you have a hefty salary, you might be in the ‘minus’ or lacking group. On the other hand, you might have a job that pays less in comparison, but that salary might be enough to take care of all your needs. In that case you are in the ‘plus’ group. That is what happens to people whose intention is to serve, Gurujee said. Regardless of how much they earn, they are always in the plus group because nature helps them.
Around two hundred students left the program with the determination to do something worthwhile with their lives.
Once in a while in history, great men appear who seem to be able to think years ahead of their times. Think of the prophets of all religions or visionary artists and scientists such as Leonardo da Vinci or the Wright brothers. Meditation might help you take such a leap and enter higher levels of consciousness and thought process, prominent scientist Dr. Syed Shafiullah said on Quantum Mukto Alochona (Open Ideas), on Wednesday, July 30.
Using concepts such as Quantum entanglement and Quantum tunneling, Dr. Shafiullah explained how meditation may help our mind transcend the limits of time and space and overcome barriers in the thought process. He also said that through the process of emergence, meditation may help scattered thoughts and information in our brains take the definite shape of an idea or insight. During group meditation, individual thought waves may linearly connect like a solitone wave, which has the capacity to pass through any barrier, he said.
Dr. Shafiullah, a Professor of Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University, and one of the leading scientists of Bangladesh, made complex theories and concepts of Quantum mechanics appear simple and easy, and left the audience enthralled.
‘If we nurture our family instead of taking it for granted, our family lives will be full of warmth and happiness.’
Speakers in the Alokaion (Self Empowerment Program) said while discussing “What Can I Do to Increase Family Closeness and Intimacy?” at the Proshanti Hall, in Shantinagar on July 29.
Speakers said that neglecting family members and responsibilities can bring unhappiness in our lives. The emphasized giving family members the time and attention they deserve, and to avoid creating walls in family relationships. It was suggested that family members take at least one meal together everyday.
Participants were given some exercises they could practice at home. One of them was the autosuggestion, “I will take proper care of my family members. They will provide inspiration when I need it.”
While sharing her meditation experience, Fahmida Islam, a teacher and a graduate of the 257th batch said that, “Meditation has helped me become more independent. It has given me the courage to do everything on my own. It has helped my professional and family life. It helps me control my anger and take the right decision at the right time.”
Sohani Mahbub, a student of Viqarunnisa Noon College and a graduate of the 267th batch, also shared her feelings.
“My confidence level is much higher than it was before I did the course. My self control has increased manifold. I can control my restlessness and anger now. I can do things I used to think impossible before.”
—Dr. Govinda Chandra Das
‘Spending a lakh and a half on a complex bypass surgery is not the only option if your coronary artery has blocked up; meditation, a healthy diet, yoga, and Pranayama (breathing exercise) can cure your heart disease at much less risk, cost and hassle’.
Dr. Govinda Chandra Das, Head of the Department of Allergy and Immunology at Sohrowardy Hospital; and founder of the “Coronary Artery Disease Prevention and Regression Program ” said in Quantum Open Ideas (Mukto Alochona) on Wednesday, July 23.
Dr. Das said he first came up with the idea of starting a program for preventing and reversing heart disease with meditation and other lifestyle changes after he read an article about how cardiologists such as Dr.Dean Ornish were using these things for successfully treating patients with heart disease in various parts of the world. After more research he developed his own program and opened it to the public.
Dr. Das said that so far hundred percent of this patients have recovered or are on their way to recovery. He said most patients have noticeable improvements in their health within on or two weeks of starting the program. Several of his patients came with him and shared their stories with the Quantum members. Their deep gratitude to Dr. Das was evident in their speeches.
Dr. Das discussed in detail about the dietary changes required to prevent and reverse heart disease, and the role of stress in the whole process. He suggested some attitude changes that would help in this regard.
- Think that every incident in your life is somehow auspicious for you.
- Do not compare yourself to others.
- Learn to forgive.
- Do not try to solve all your problems at once, tackle them one by one.
- Appreciate your critics, they are pointing out your faults without any fee.
- Do not indulge in gossip or back biting.
Majee Nahar El Bukhari, who chaired the session, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Das at the conclusion of the session, and expressed her joy at the fact that now doctors such as him are joining the Quantum Foundation in appreciating the value of meditation and other lifestyle changes and using them for people’s benefit.
The 3rd and for now, final batch of Prothomaion Ponchom was held in Dhaka on July 25 and 26, Friday and Saturday. Around two hundred Pro-Quantiers from Dhaka and other parts of the country took part in the course designed to show the path to become first in life. Surayia Rahman, Director Coordination; Abdullah Jubair, Director, Miirpur Center; Rabia Nazreen, Moderator, Quantum Student Course; and Ferdoushi Sultana, Organizer, discussed various topics related to Quantum Method and Foundation, and qualities necessary for being ideal Quantiers. Participants took part in various assignments and tests, also shared their experiences of working for Quantum and how Quantum has changed their lives.
Around nine hundred people attended the ten Alokaion sessions to listen to speakers talk about the Importance of Exercise and Meditation for Sound Health, take part in group meditation, and talk to the counselors.
The speakers said that sound health, which according to the World Health Organization ‘a state of complete Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’ is the greatest blessing of all. Exercise and meditation are key to a long, healthy and blessed life. Quantum Yoga, in particular, helps to keep the various organs and glands functioning properly, keeps our spine supple and help retain youthfulness, brings us to our ideal weight, and prevents and cures a diverse range of diseases. Meditation and relaxation, on the other hand, is the only effective way to combat stress, and thus helps prevent and cure a wide range of diseases caused by stress, including pain, hypertension, heart disease, IBS, diabetes and even cancer.
This week, advocate Salma Ali, renowned human rights activist and head of the Bangladesh Women Lawyers Association, was one of the Quantum Graduates who shared their meditation success stories with the audience. Advocate Ali said not matter how busy she is, she always makes sure that she practices meditation twice everyday, because meditation gives her the energy to work tirelessly with only four hours of sleep.
She also said that prior to learning meditation, she used to think that a victim of domestic violence or sexual abuse could never completely recover from their trauma and go back to being their earlier selves. But with meditation, she said, the spirits of the such victims, which she compared to a crumpled sheet of paper, could be healed, and they could once again become fresh and whole like a new sheet of paper.
The theme for next week’s Alokaion is, “ How to Improve Family Harmony and Closeness?”
Alakaion is a free and open program. You can come any time between 7:30 am and 8:30 pm and attend a one-hour session.
An Introductory Session on Quantum Method was organized by the University Dental College on Monday, June 21. Rabia Nazreen, Moderator, Quantum Student Course made the main presentation in the session. Almost hundred and thirty teachers and students were present on the occasion. Assistant Professor of Surgery Dr. Afzal Hossain and Assistant Professor of Dental Chemistry Shegufta Ahmed, who are both Quantum Graduates, also spoke is the session. Prof. Dr. Syed Mozammel Hossain, Principal, chaired the program and made concluding comments. ‘Your children will have to work hard anyway. If you try to protect them for hard work while you are here, be sure that they will have to work hard after you are gone. Changing habits late in life, when they have less health and vitality, will be harder and bring less rewards. But if you let them while they are still young, they will have it easier later in life.’
Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq said in the Quantaion E Jalali program held on Wednesday, July 16, in the Engineers Institute Auditorium. For the third month in a row, Gurujee discussed the meaning of Sura Balad and stressed the importance of hard work for being successful in this life and the next. He said if advancing spiritually meant only performing certain rituals than it would be an easy thing. But in the Quran Allah describes the path of religion as difficult and says it includes such things as setting slaves of all types free, taking care of orphans and the destitute, encouraging each other to nurture universal love, and join forces with other like minded people. “And that is what we are trying to do in Quantum”, he said.
Gurujee guided a special meditation in which participants reflected on their work habits and how they could improve on them. He encouraged every one to think everyday about the work they could have done that day but had left undone. He also inspired the participants to pray to God so that they can work harder and die working.

Whimsical attitude, environmental factors and lack of planning for work and time management create procrastination, which in turn brings failure. So it is very important to break the chain of procrastination. Meditation is very effective in this respect as it can reprogram the information in the subconscious mind.
Speakers in the weekly Alokaion (Self Empowerment Program) said these on this Tuesday, July 8. Nine hundred and ten people attended the 10 Alokaion sessions at the Proshanti Hall and listened to presentations on the “ The Way to Break the Chain of Procrastination” and took part in the mental image (monchobi) meditation.
Like every week, Quantum graduates shared their success stories with the audience in each session. Malik Mohammad Mishkat, a student of the Department of Architecture of Khulna University said meditation has helped him become more confident. He realizes that he had been wasting his potential but now he wants to become a true superman. Now he is determined to do something for his country, especially rickshaw pullers.
Voluntary blood donation is gradually becoming family tradition. Sumon-Jhumu couple has set such an example by donating blood three times each in almost the same period. After donating blood three times Md. Saiduzzaman Sumon and Huheli Zinat Jhumu have committed to donate blood for the rest of their lives with the Voluntary Blood Donation Program (VBDP) of Quantum Foundation.
For this noble commitment they were honored at the 34th ‘Live Long Blood Donor Felicitation Program’ organized by VBDP at Meditation Hall, Kakrail on Saturday, July 5, 2008. One hundred and six people including six women were honored at the program. All the donors like Sumon, Jhumu, Sohel Ahmed, Ameer, Prangan Das donate blood only to save others lives willingly.

Chief Coordinator of VBDP, Quantum Foundation, Madam Nahar El Bukhari presided the program while coordinator of VBDP, Masuda Akhter Abedin gave the introductory speech.
All the speakers expressed hope to fulfill the total demand of blood in the country with voluntarily donated blood.
Superstitions are created by the oppressive class of the society and they are a barrier to achieving wisdom. A man lacking wisdom cannot accept new inventions beneficial for him.
Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq said these things at the monthly Graduate Proggaion Program held at a new venue, Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) Auditorium, on July 2, 2008.
Gurujee said that Superstitions of any specific time are those illogical traditions which are harmful for the people living at that time. It is a creation of the rules, extortionist class for their own betterment. Superstitions always chain up ordinary people, he added.
Gurujee said that every successful person of history gets his/her success by overcoming his/her sorrow. Gurujee also answered questions and guided three special meditations in the program.
The first `Ajeo-19’ of July was held at Dhaka Government Muslim High School on July 2. Nearby 150 students attended the session and learnt about the benefits and importance of blood donation.
The students enjoyed the program and expressed their wish to donate blood when they are 19.
In addition 12 curious teachers took part in the program very attentively.
Ajeo-19 will continue its motivation it this area.
Overcoming rainy and stormy weather, more than six hundred people came to attend the weekly Alokaion (Self Empowerment) Program at Proshanti Hall, Shantinagar on July 1.
They listened to the discussion on `Anger, Resentment and Envy, Barriers to Self Development’ and took part in a meditation which helped them remove these from their minds.
Speakers compared these negative characteristics of human mind with poison and said that these poisons of mind are the cause of a lot of serious diseases including heart attack. They said that men should forgive each other as many times as they want to be forgiven by Almighty. Man should forgive each other for their own interest as forgiveness is the way to success, presenters added.
The audience was asked to identify people they were jealous of and pray for them as well as pray for the mercy of God for themselves. Like every week Quantum Graduates also shared their success stories with the audience in the sessions. Raihana Akhter, a student of Asian University and a graduate of 272 batch (held on 13-16 June) expressed her feelings about the meditation course in one of the sessions.
`I can just say that I got an extra ordinary feeling after completing the course. I was bulky. But within 15 days I lost six kgs of my body-weight by applying the technique I learnt in the course. I had problem in sleeping. I could not sleep willingly. But this problem has gone and I can sleep and wake up according to my own desire, now-a-days.’
Nirob, a soon-to-be 19 year old, is thinking seriously about donating blood for the first time after attending, Ajeo-19 passing at his school, Nazrul Shikshalaya.
‘Make your 19th birthday memorable by donating blood’-the main message of Ajeo-19 was brought to 75 students studying in class 9 and 10 on June 30.
Abdus salam headmaster of the school asked the students to be ready to donate blood after 18 as donating blood saves lives and it is the responsibility of everybody to save the lives of others.
A few teachers were also present at the program in which “Ekti pranke bachabo bole” (To save A Live),a quantum-produced documentary on blood donation was screened .
‘The children of this age are unfortunate’, Gurujee said in the annual workshop for parents held on June 27 at the Supreme Court Bar Association Auditorium, ‘Neither of their parents can give them time or attention.’
In earlier times, the purpose of getting married was to start a family. People were psychologically more ready to take on the responsibility of parenting. But now parents often accept a child reluctantly or with mixed emotions, resulting in a psychological distance between the child and the parents, Gurujee said. The working mother often feels forced to go back to her job soon after having the baby, leaving the baby in the hands of maid servants.
All this results in the child looking for time and attention elsewhere, which is the first step toward going ashtray, Gurujee said. Parents sometimes try to make amends for their mistakes, but by then it is often too late.
To prevent these sad situations, parents must give time to their children, Gurujee said. It is a good thing if a woman wants to have a career, but no women should be forced to work simply to provide financial support for her family. That responsibility goes to the man. But government and organizations should give women at least three years of maternity leave with full pay, so that she can ensure the proper development of her child in the vital first three years. The nation owes at least that much to her!
No matter how busy they are, parents can ensure the proper development of their children by giving them quality time. What a matter is not how much time you are giving your child, but what you are doing when you are together. Watching the TV while the child wonders around does not qualify as giving the child time.
Gurujee also said that to bring up children as successful and enlightened individuals, we must teach them to be industrious and giving from an early age. If you are going to give some one a gift, let your child give it. If he tastes the joy of giving from the childhood, he will most likely become a wonderful enlightened adult.
Almost four hundred and seventy parents or would-be parents were present on the occasion.
‘The knowledge we gain through extrasensory means expresses itself in sensory ways such as visions and sounds. So in order to improve our powers as psychics, we must try to sharpen the power of our senses, especially our power of observation.’ Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari said in the Psyche Workshop held in the Supreme Court Bar Association Auditorium on Saturday, June 28.
‘Most of us look but don’t see’, Gurujee said, ‘But the truly enlightened people were able to see as well as look’, Gurujee said.
To help the participants practice visualization, Dr. Moniruzzaman, Coordinator, Research and Motivation, presented a slide show on the human anatomy. The participants watched images of various organs and systems and tried to visualize them afterwards.
Gurujee said the goal a psychic is to connect to the super conscious which contains all information past and present. He said that the inherent power to do this is latent within all of us, and can be developed with regular practice and the intention to serve.
Earlier, Majee Naher El Bukhari, in her introductory comments, stressed the importance of regular meditation, healing and Quantaion for improving psychic skills. She also emphasized the importance of keeping the information gained through extrasensory powers confidential.
In addition, the participants took part in the wisdom meditation twice and certificates were distributed between the recent graduates of the Quantum Psyche Course.
We donate blood unselfishly. Yet we feel very happy when someone gives us acknowledgement and honor. We think this type of felicitation program will encourage meme people to donate blood.
Mohammad Ibn Selim Reja Milon and Md Idrees Khan Shipon, two lifelong blood donors of Voluntary Blood Donation Program, Quantum Foundation said this while expressing their feelings, after receiving a token of honor each in the 33rd lifelong blood donor felicitation program held at Quantum Meditation Hall on June 28.
Presided over by the chief coordination of VBDP Madam Nahar El-Bukhari, the program was addressed by Dr. Md Anowar Hossain Vice Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, as chief guest and S.A Kader Keron, President of Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, as special guest. Introductory speech Mrs. Masuda Akhter Abedin, Coordination of VBDP, made the chief guest said that only one bag of blood gives new hope to a dying patient and his family.
S.A. Kader Keron announced that they were ready to give any type of support if any initiative to collect blood from markets is taken.
Madam Nahar El Bukhari said that it is not possible to give any kind of repayment to the blood donors. Quantum foundation is expressing only its gratefulness to them, through this program
of Mirpur Center
Gurujee Shahid El Bukheri Mahajataq met the graduates and pro-masters of the Mirpur Center in special program entitled ‘2008 Belongs to Quantum, the Future Belongs to Quantum’, organized by the center, on Wednesday, June 25. In the three hour program, Gurujee guided to special meditations and discussed Quantum’s evolution and future prospects. Two graduates, Masuda Sayeed, and Dr. Ahmed Sajedul Haque, both of whom first did the course in 1994, compared the Quantum they saw in 94 to the Quantum of today.
Masuda Sayeed said, ‘When weekly discussions first started in Chittagong (where she did the course), I was the only speaker. Sometimes there were one or two listeners, sometimes there were none. From that small beginning, Quantum has now developed into a sea, and I hope it becomes an ocean.’
Dr. Ahmed Sajedul Haque said, “I have seen many organizations. The bigger the organization becomes, the less sincere and cordial the leader becomes. Only Gurujee has become more cordial with time. If there is any reason to stay in this country, if there is any sort of future for Bangladesh, it is in Quantum.’
Gurujee in his discussion said Quantum has evolved so rapidly because of its belief and silent work. He said organizations usually don’t last because of lack of equal opportunity of participation and financial transparency. Quantum has succeeded by ensuring these two things.’
Gurujee also said that the recent successes of all Quantum activities indicate that Quantum is now ready to expand in Quantum proportions, i.e many times faster than even geometric proportions. He said Mirpur Center should expand in accordance with this speed, and become a sanctuary for everyone it Mirpur.

Tejgaon Government High School
‘Is it not possible to donate blood before 18? We want to donate blood now.’- Liza, Tuli and Sumi, aged 14 and 15, said after attending Ajeo Unish in the Tejgaon Government High School on Wednesday, June 26..
These comments show the amount of interest the motivational program Ajeyo Unish is generating among young people across schools. The program started a couple of months ago and has already taken place in several education institutions. More than two hundred people attended the program on Wednesday.
Nine hundred and fifty five people attended the ten Alokaion sessions yesterday, bringing the attendance very close to the 1000 people milestone.
The theme for yesterday’s sessions was, Thankfulness and Patience: The Way To Spontaneous Success. The presenters said success not a goal but an endless journey. Spontaneous success is a series of successes coming one after another as naturally as the flight of a bird or the blooming of a flower. And this kind of success is only possible when we have two qualities, thankfulness and patience.
Citing the examples of successful people of all ages, the presenters said that God always gives more to those who are grateful for what they have and keep working toward their goals silently. They said these two qualities could be achieved through meditation.
Like every week, a Quantum Graduate shared his or her success story in each session. Sadia Naoroz Khan, an ex student of Dhaka University said,
After graduating from Dhaka University I planned to go abroad for higher studies. All mu friends and classmates applied to several universities but I only applied to one. I requested Quantum healing for my admission and scholarship.

Gurujee in Pro-Master's Repeat Course
'We want to transform failure into success, disease into health, and sorrow into joy', Gurujee Shahid El Bukhari Mahajataq said in the Pro-Master's Compact Repeat Course held on June 20 and 21, 'But it is not possible to do this alone.' To really eliminate sorrow first we need desire and then commitment, he said. It is this commitment that enables us to make collective efforts to eliminate sorrow.
Once someone commits to follow the guidance of an honest Guru, three things happen, Gurujee said. First, there is less divisiveness and more interpersonal coherance. Second, individual behavior becomes more controlled and considerate. And these two make it possible for the third thing, collective effort, to take place.
We used to say,' I have a mission to be fulfilled', Gurujee said. "But from now on we are going to say, "We have a mission to be fulfilled." And to fulfill our joint mission we must acquire three qualtities, Gurujee said.
1) Empathy: Giving the needs of other Pro-Masters equal or more importance as our own.
2) Selflessness: Raising above our own status considerations, likes and dislikes in empathising with other Pro-Masters.
3) Accountabilty: Having the courage to be accountable for our actions.
These three qualtities will enable a Pro-Master to do justice to his commitment or bayat , Gurujee said. Almost six hundred and fifty Quantum Pro-Masters attended the program and returned home with the deep bond of brothers at arms.

The 272nd batch of the Quantum Method Meditation Course was one of the most diverse and joyous batches ever held. One of the most prominent persons taking part in the course, in addition to the Md. Ashraful, the captain of the Bangladesh Cricket Team; Md. Mahfuzul Haque, Principal of Dhaka Imperial College; and several senior goverment officers, was Justice A. K. M. Sadeque, former Judge of Supreme Court and Chief Election Commisioner, Bangladesh. Here is what he said in the concluding ceremony.
As an eighty year old man I don't have much of a future to look forward to. My primary concern now is to pass my present in sound health.
About a year ago, in Frankfurt, I had a stroke and fell from a ladder. I even went to a coma. I recovered gradually but lost the ability to walk.
I knew about this course because several members of my family had taken part in it. I thought, since my problems seem to be originating from my head, I better go and fix my head first. So I came here.
One the first day, four or five people had to carry me here. On the second day, I walked with a stick. On the third day, I did not even need a stick, I could walk on my own!
I thank the Quantum Foundation sincerely for this.
This month’s Quantaion E Jalali was held in the Engineers’ Institute Auditorium on Wednesday, June 18. In the program Gurujee guided graduates to think deeply about one of their bad habits, how they had developed it, and what damage this was causing them. Then in the final meditation and prayers, graduates connected to the mental strength needed to break free of the habit.
On Tuesday, June 17, like every month, journalists belonging to the Quantum family got together to exchange views with Gurujee. The one hour and thirty minute program consisted of two meditations and half an hour of group discussion.
This month, there was a lively discussion about the rich history of our country, instigated by the publication of ‘Roots’; a Bengali monthly published by journalist Mohammad Mahmuduzzaman of the Quantum family and his wife Nishat Mashfiqua. Several journalists, including poet Abdul Hai Shikder, talked about various places of historical significance scattered about is Dhaka which most of us are not aware of. Gurujee said there is not lacking in our prosperous past, what is lacking is our knowledge of it. He invited everyone to share their knowledge of the past and help enrich ‘Roots’. Kazi Rownak Hossain, Editor of Sargam, moderated the discussion.
The 25th Quantum Student Course was held in Dhaka from June 6 to 8. 80 students of different schools, colleges and universities took part in the course which teaches us how to first in class and first in life. The next student course will be held in Sylhet from June 27 to 29.
This month’s Proggaion Program was held in the Engineer’s Institute Auditorium on Wednesday, June 4. The program is designed to help Quantum Graduates develop wisdom, or the spontaneous ability to do the right thing at the right time.
Gurujee had earlier described wisdom as the combination of knowledge, insight and foresight. Yesterday he explained what these meant. Knowledge is the collection of a lot of information. Insight is understanding why something happened. Foresight is understanding what the impact of the incident will be.
For example, if someone tells you: ‘so and so’s marriage is not working well.’ Knowing this is simply knowledge. But if you understand what caused the marriage not to work out well, or what the motive is behind the other person’s giving this information to you, you have insight. If you can also tell the impact of this on the lives of everybody concerned, you have foresight.
Gurujee had previously said one of the most important barriers to developing wisdom is emotion. Yesterday, he focused on sorrow, which, he said, caused resentment. And resentment is as much of a barrier to wisdom as vengefulness, which he said is caused by anger.
Participants took part in a special meditation to let out the sadness stored inside them, in addition to the very special wisdom (progga) meditation. Gurujee also answered a number of questions. More than seven hundred people attended the program.

At the concluding ceremony, participants said the course gave them new insights about different issues related to working for Quantum, and clarified several misconceptions. For example, one participant said that before he used to think we should distribute Charity Banks to generate more funds for Quantum, but now he understood the main purpose of distributing these banks is to bring Quantum’s message to people.
We hope all participants will progress through the next four phases of this course to become a first grade Pro-Quantiers.
