Quantum Charity Bank
Quantum Foundation’s Charity Bank Program is a novel and unique program that reveals the power of organized charity. Under this program, small‘charity banks’ are distributed by the foundation to members of Quantum and the general public, who accumulate donations in them. After a period of time the banks are collected back and the donations are used to finance various social service programs. Over the past few years, there has been a dramatic rise in the popularity of the program, with total annual collection rising from only 18,000 taka in 1998 to 3,65,14,385 taka in 2007-2008.This means that our collection in the tenth year is 1942 times the collection of our first year! Today, the fund generated through the Charity Bank Program is used to finance an ever-growing range of Social Service Programs, from schools for destitute children and rehabilitation shelters for abused women, to forestation and malaria eradication. The program is a testament to the fact that when used collectively, small individual donations can go a long way in bringing long-lasting positive change in many peoples lives.
Behind the seemingly incredible success of the Charity Bank Program is a simple universal truth. Charity brings significant benefit to the donor. The Al Quran, the Geeta, the Bible, the Tripitok, and the scriptures of all religions encourage charity. All religions teach that charity:
- Purifies your income
- Redeems your sins and creates inner peace
- Cures problems and disease
- Drives away stress and anxiety
- Brings prosperity and good fortune

The conventional misbelief about charity is that only the rich should give it. However, the Quran says in order to be a true believer, one should give charity from whatever one has. The charity bank is an easy, interesting, and effective way to do so.
My Grandson Is Now Running Around
Asha Rani Devi, Educator
The news of the birth of our grandson brought us tremendous pleasure and pain simultaneously. Our baby came to this earth with both legs severely impaired. Doctors said his chances of recovery were little. It is hard to express how difficult it is for family members to see a child grow in front of your eyes but not be able to walk! I pledged some money to the charity bank for my grandson’s recovery. At the same time, the members of the Quantum family all around the country participated in healing prayers for the child. To everyone’s astonishment, over the next two months, both of his legs healed completely. The final test concluded he was completely recovered. The child is now up and running around. This miraculous recovery of my grandson, when doctors had given up, is a testament to the infinite powers of the Almighty.
The Doctors were Astounded!
Zaker Hussain Majumdar, Professional
When my father suddenly had severe chest pain one night, we took him to a hospital. Based on the angiogram report the doctors advised surgery, but fear of post operative complications made us hesitate. I donated some money to my charity bank for my father’s well- being. He had a second angiogram in the Heart Foundation followed by the same advice. Apparently he had five blocks in his coronary arteries. When we had finalized all the preparations for taking him to India for surgery, suddenly a doctor saw the reports and said surgery was not necessary. He could recover fully with the help of only medicine! My father is now as well as he has ever been!
I finally Got Student Visa
Gul E-Nur-Asifa, Student
I got admission offer from a university in Australia in 2004 and immediately applied for a visa. On the day of the visa interview, I appeared with all the necessary papers in order. But for some unknown reason, my visa application was turned down. I applied for a second time and again faced a visa interview in December. Once again, my application was rejected for no apparent reason. With two consecutive failures, I lost my spirit. I was preparing as well as I could but something was going wrong! It was at that time that I got my charity bank. I immediately pledged some money for approval of my visa application. In addition, I would regularly put money to my charity bank and also regularly practice mon chhobi or mental imaging during meditation. Finally, in June 2005, I started my journey towards Melbourne, Australia for my Masters education!
